Digital Art & Animation
A fun, creative class for kids who love drawing, characters, and the art they see in video games and animation.
Students learn how to create digital artwork using professional tools like Affinity Designer and Krita, exploring everything from character design and backgrounds to simple frame-by-frame animation. The class focuses on creativity first—giving kids a supportive space to draw, paint, experiment with colors, and bring their ideas to life on screen.
In This Class, Students Will:
Draw and paint digitally using Affinity and Krita’s powerful tools
Design characters, creatures, and backgrounds inspired by games and cartoons
Create simple animations using layers, timing, and frame-by-frame techniques
Build confidence in visual storytelling and digital creativity
Perfect for young artists who love creating worlds and characters, and want to learn the digital tools used by modern illustrators and animators.

About The Teacher
Chloe Tinney
Chloe (she/they) has been immersed in the arts forever. Daughter of a musical theater couple, she has been writing, drawing, singing, acting, and composing for as long as she can remember. They’ve participated in countless live theater productions, and have also done work in animation and film. Most recently, they co-composed the main song and film score for the upcoming queer indie sci-fi film Again Again.
Her art medium of choice is digital, one she says is both for the love of its endless possibilities, and for the Undo button. She’s been creating digital art ever since she was gifted a (probably less-than-legal) copy of Photoshop as a pre-teen and now primarily works with the Procreate app on her iPad, and using Affinity Photo & Krita in her classes. She’s excited to be able to pass along her love for digital art and the many skills she’s picked up over the years onto her students.
